#2 Detroit Seminoles @ #8 Wolverines

The MCFL is known for quality teams top to bottom and ELITE teams at the top. The Detroit Seminoles come to town as the standard bearer of excellence. The Seminoles have been in the league championship game for 13 of the last 14 years and in the latest National Football Events poll came in at # 2 nationally. They are star studded line up with their eyes on the prize. If the Seminoles beat the Wolverines they will clinch the division title and have the inside track for home field advantage through out the playoffs. With a win, the Wolverines will control their own destiny...Nationally ranked teams, premiere athletes, and playoff implications.....Are You Ready for Some Football?!?!

Wolverines power past Xtreme

Winning on the road in MCFL is never easy. The Xtreme did their part to keep that tradition alive, at least on their defensive side of the ball. The vaunted Wolverine offense poked and prodded the entire first half before finally finding any cracks to exploit. Near the end of the second half Moonie Cunningham took the ball off tackle and scampered 28 yards off tackle for the lone score of the half. Despite scores by WR Shaun Boykins and FB AD Starks in the second half, the dominant story of the game had to be the Wolverine defense.

Missing 3 key contributors, the defense controlled the game from the opening snap. On the first play from scrimmage DE Brandon Ditto exploded through the Xtreme offensive line and nearly took the handoff. It only got better from there for the Ditto and the Wolverines. Ditto finished with 3.5 sacks and numerous pressures. DE Byron Tinker demonstrated array of moves on the way to the quarterback. The Xtreme rushing attack was thwarted by the defensive tackle tandem of AJ Lewis and Kyle Lowe.

The pivotal play of the game came on special teams this week. After the Xtreme defense forced the Wolverines to punt WR Derrick Ruffin beat his man off the line and met the punt returner a split second after his catch, causing and recovering the fumble to set up the Boykins TD catch.
